"Saudi Arabia uses AI to guide pilgrims "
The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has adopted advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital techniques to provide guidance and counseling content to visitors and pilgrims at the Grand Mosque. With 52 screens placed both inside and outside the mosque, covering a total screen area of 279 square meters, customized guidance content is disseminated. A team of esteemed scholars in religious and guidance aspects curates the content for specific occasions, which is then translated into multiple languages by a dedicated team. These screens are operational 24/7 and strategically located at the entrances, exits, courtyards, and roads leading to the Grand Mosque. In addition, the authority has introduced an AI-powered guidance robot designed to assist pilgrims by offering essential brochures and publications to facilitate their rituals. This interactive guidance robot contains informative and guiding content, allowing users to access and share it via their mobile phones.
