Dragon Oil Strengthens Partnership with Turkmenistan in Oil and Gas Sector
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil, a company fully owned by the Government of Dubai, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for the warm welcome and ongoing support extended to the company. Leading a delegation, Al Tayer engaged in a fruitful dialogue with Batyr Amanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, and Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of Turkmen Oil, at the Cabinet building in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The meeting brought together members of Dragon Oil’s Board of Directors, including Hussain Lootah, Board Secretary Qusai Al-Shared, Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, CEO, and several officials from various departments. During their discussions, both parties explored avenues for enhancing their successful collaboration in the oil and gas sector. Al Tayer highlighted significant long-term investment initiatives in the Cheleken area and the Block 19 project, reaffirming Dragon Oil's dedication to achieving sustainability goals and targeting zero gas emissions by 2027. Amanov commended the partnership and extended an invitation to Dragon Oil to participate in the upcoming Investment Forum set to take place in Ashgabat in September 2024. The meeting also focused on a substantial investment exceeding $10 billion aimed at advancing production from the Cheleken concession area, which has already seen cumulative production reach an impressive 447 million barrels. Dragon Oil remains committed to leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices in oil and gas production for the mutual benefit of both the Turkmen government and Dragon Oil through to 2035.
