Haya Deeb - 13th April -2023Etihad Airways proudly announced that it has welcomed 12 million passengers, marking a remarkable 36% increase compared to the previous year. According to the airline's traffic statistics for August 2024, the rolling 12-month passenger count has soared to over 17 million, nearly 70% higher than the total for 2022. In August alone, the airline carried 1.7 million guests and achieved an impressive average passenger load factor of 89%, reflecting a strong performance during the summer holiday season. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, remarked, “Our passenger numbers in August have risen significantly compared to the same period last year, showcasing our sustained growth momentum. We maintained a robust passenger load factor of 89% in August 2024, even while expanding our capacity from 2023. This exceptional performance during the holiday period highlights the increasing preference for Etihad among travelers.” He further noted that Etihad’s operating fleet has expanded to 95 aircraft, up from 79 at the same time last year. This addition of 16 new aircraft over the past twelve months reflects the ambition and dedication of the entire team, consistently achieving a load factor exceeding 86%. “In August, we welcomed the last two of six A321neos expected in 2024 into service. Additionally, we are now flying to 10 more passenger destinations than at this time last year. This expansion not only enhances our network but also reinforces Abu Dhabi’s status as a global aviation hub and a prime destination for tourists worldwide.”
